Rebel Wisdom invites women at midlife into writing as a way of reclaiming voice, direction, and authorship for what comes next.
Many women reach a point where familiar roles or long-held narratives no longer fit, and they begin to reconsider how they want to spend their time and attention. We found ourselves in that same place, and it is part of how Rebel Wisdom began.
Rebel Wisdom offers space to explore these questions through writing and reflection. This is a place to start writing about what matters now.
Here you’ll find essays, writing invitations, and seasonal practices shaped by conversation, shared tables, and time in good company.
We are on a mission to support women at midlife in developing their own writing through steady practice, thoughtful prompts, and shared inquiry. This space is designed to help writing take root and grow over time.
Rebel Wisdom invites you to trust your own authority and follow what your writing begins to reveal.
About Us
We are Aimée Knight and Tenaya Darlington, longtime friends and collaborators. We believe some of life’s most interesting questions are best explored together. Rebel Wisdom grew out of years of walking, writing, teaching, traveling, and wondering together.
Aimée Knight, Ph.D.
I’m Aimée Knight, a writer and educator focused on reflective writing, community engagement, and community-led design. I’m the author of Community is the Way: Engaged Writing and Designing for Transformative Change and a Professor of Communication and Media Studies at Saint Joseph’s University, where I have worked with over 130 community partners on writing and design projects. I give talks and lead workshops on community writing. Right now, I am writing two books: one about regenerative media and one about surviving a brain hemorrhage and seeing the world more clearly than before.
Tenaya Darlington, MFA
I’m Tenaya Darlington, a writer, educator, and the author of seven books on food and drink, including Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese. Many people know me as Madame Fromage, where my work centers on cheese, travel, and craft as ways of understanding place and culture. I write for publications such as Culture, Fermentation, Cooking Light, Edible Philly, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. I teach writing at Saint Joseph’s University and co-host European travel experiences with Cheese Journeys. I currently serve as an EU Cheese Ambassador, creating podcasts and videos that celebrate culture, craft, and pleasure.
